The Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Senior Registration Officer in the Teacher Registration Board division.
The Senior Registration Officer provides advice to departmental management regarding the operation of, and improvement to business systems used to facilitate efficient and effective registration practices.
The successful applicant, will investigate complaints, undertake reporting and provide advice on areas of non-compliance.
The successful applicant will support and provide training to other team members and they will also monitor and report on team performance, training gaps and workloads.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Skills and experience in the delivery of regulation and/or compliance services and ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Well developed research and analytical skills on the areas of compliance with the ability to draw information from a range of sources to make evidence-based recommendations.
- Well developed team management and planning skills with the ability to coordinate and deliver effective outcomes.
- Well developed verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, consult and provide a customer focused service.
- Demonstrated high-level written communications skills, including experience in preparing policy, procedures and resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
