Armadale Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher - Student Services to join their team.
The Teacher Student Services will be a key figure in supporting students to fully engage in their schooling, enabling them to become positive, responsible, respectful and caring members of the school community. We are seeking a passionate, innovative and committed professional who can provide leadership in the school and community by promoting the school’s vision, values and culture.
The successful applicant will be a highly effective communicator who forms positive relationships with students, staff and parents. This is a very “hands on” role where a high level of interpersonal skills and drive is necessary.
A strong case management approach with exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage your time effectively, prioritise, keep accurate records and analyse data to inform interventions and future practices is an important part of the role.
The implementation of whole school and/or cohort specific social and emotional learning programs form an important part of your work with all students along with supporting the operational aspects of student services such as organising school assemblies, activities such as reward days, information sessions and excursions.
The successful applicant will support the identification of students at educational risk (SAER) that includes the knowledge, and use, of effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies. Experience in department policy, behaviour management in schools and procedures, individual education/risk management plans, rewards programs, analysis and application of data and pastoral care programs that promote positive student wellbeing are requirements of this role. He/she will also understand the importance of restorative practices to strengthen the school community.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
