Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School (CHS) is seeking a highly competent and experienced educator to join their team as Program Coordinator – School Development.
This provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a dedicated leadership team of professionals and commit to consolidating and enhancing existing school improvement and accountability initiatives through a data driven understanding of evaluating the progress of priorities and improvement targets as outlined in the school’s current Business Plan.
The successful applicant will demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities and be responsible for the development and maintenance of a number of whole school projects that are aligned with the school’s improvement and accountability process. We are looking for a reliable, resilient leader with strong professional knowledge and understanding of current Department of Education strategic directions and can demonstrate successful strategic approaches to school improvement and accountability planning.
As the Program Coordinator you will be a dedicated and highly motivated educator with an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and WA Curriculum in a Senior High School context, be able to motivate, engage with staff and work collaboratively as a highly effective team member. Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Professional Standards for Teachers and how these are applied to transitioning teachers from partial to full registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA) is an important aspect of this role. Additionally, a key requirement of this position will be an understanding along with applicable knowledge associated with the AITSL Classroom Practice Development Continuum. As a reflective practitioner, the successful applicant will possess effective qualitative and quantitative data literacy and a capacity to lead adjustments in practice to meet identified student needs. A highly developed understanding of school accountability and improvement practices associated with school business planning and its relationship to Department of Education review cycles highly desirable. The capacity to lead the development and implementation of innovative whole of school classroom practices, into the curriculum, is a requirement.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
