The Education Business Services Division is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Senior Business Improvement Coordinator in the Business Capability branch.
The focus of the Business Capability branch is to assist with systemic improvement initiatives, that support the business and corporate services work undertaken in WA public schools and the Department of Education.
In the role of Senior Communications Improvement Officer, you will take the lead in communication activity by creating, developing and managing print, presentation and online content. You will be responsible for establishing best practice with regards to the writing standards and frameworks adopted by the department and embedding the processes to support communication improvements. You will liaise with other business areas to provide advice, support and guidance on the development and management of instructional and support material.
The successful applicant will build strong alliances with customers, stakeholders, interest groups and other Departmental business areas to facilitate the acceptability and achievement of planned outcomes.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Highly developed oral communication and interpersonal skills, including consultation, presentation and facilitation skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with proven investigative skills and ability to interpret data and provide innovative thinking in developing and implementing projects.
- Highly developed writing and editing skills with ability to develop instructional and support materials and communicate effectively with a diverse workforce in a print, presentation and online environment.
- Highly developed project management skills and ability to contribute to team processes and outcomes.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
