This is a permanent full-time (1.0FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2020
Harvey Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, motivated and student-focussed teacher who can work collaboratively to develop resources, undertake planning and moderation and who has the skills to build positive, caring relationships with students based on mutual respect.
The successful applicant will be able to teach across a range of ability levels from Year 7 to Year 12 and has a high interest in collaboration across learning areas.
Excellent classroom management, the ability to develop rapport and motivate students, differentiate the curriculum to cater for individual student needs and to practise a range of teaching strategies to maximise student outcomes are vital for this position. A knowledge of, or expertise in, Explicit Direct Instruction would be advantageous.
Harvey SHS is moving to a teacher led approach for concept attainment and skill development and anticipates that you will join us in continuing this practice. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
