Narrogin Senior High School (SHS) is seeking creative and engaging English Teachers who are passionate about improving literacy standards and can inspire students to become enthusiastic about exploring a range of literary texts.
We currently have two (2) permanent full-time positions commencing in Term 1, 2020.
Successful applicants will be a dedicated to planning and delivering high quality teaching programs that promote student engagement and achievement in English. As a passionate Teacher, dedicated to improving student’s literacy skills, you will demonstrate a genuine care and consideration for students with a commitment to highly effective teaching practices and a willingness to seek constant improvement in your teaching through reflective practice. There is also a requirement to engage with all students, irrespective of their academic standing, be highly collaborative in working with colleagues and highly committed to your own ongoing professional growth and development.
Narrogin SHS has an improvement agenda focused on improving student outcomes through consistent approaches to pedagogy and positive behaviour strategies. This is supported by a comprehensive professional learning program to provide quality educational experiences through promoting the school's vision and strategic directions. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
