Swan View Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a proactive and inspirational Mathematics Teacher to join our team. To be successful in this role, you should be able to develop high quality learning experiences for students at Swan View SHS, in the learning area of Mathematics. As a teacher at our school you should have the belief that all students can learn and will be able to deliver the Mathematics curriculum to students in a manner that is differentiated and engaging for all, to allow each student to reach their full learning potential. We are seeking applicants with excellent classroom management skills, and who have the skills to build positive, caring relationships with students based on mutual respect. We seek teachers who can differentiate curriculum and provide explicit instruction to meet diverse needs. We value teachers who can integrate digital technology into classroom practice and who use a range of assessment and reporting methods. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to reflect on the effectiveness of their practice and a desire to contribute to our school community.
It is desirable for applicants to have understanding and experience teaching the Western Australian Curriculum and Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses. Demonstrated success in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), gifted and talented students and students at academic risk will be highly regarded.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
