Gidgegannup Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Primary to join their school.
The successful applicant will be a passionate and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants should already have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to deliver content in an engaging manner. You will have excellent interpersonal skills in order to develop effective relationships with students, staff and parents.
You will also be highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic, flexible and have the ability to create an effective, engaging and inclusive learning environment based on high expectations. The ability to work effectively in teams is essential and the demonstrated capacity to lead and support the development of other staff is highly desirable.

Within the school we use the following programs to track and assess our students progress; PAT/R (Progressive Achievement Tests in Reading); On-Entry; ICAS (Independent Skill-Based Assessment test) (Science Yr 6); Class Assessments / Records; Formative and; Summative assessments.

Gidgegannup PS is a small semi-rural school with a close community who work extremely well with each other. The Board and P&C are very supportive. Gidgegannup PS was opened in 1992 and is located within that portion of the Swan Shire, which is considered to be outer Metropolitan; a rural lifestyle with a blend of old farming and new hobby farms. The school is in a very tranquil setting, being on the outskirts of town and backing onto a rural aspect. The classroom clusters are built on the contours of a hill using this elevation to advantage.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
