Warwick Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly focused and enthusiastic individual to lead their Lower School students as part of the Student Services team. In collaboration with the Head of Student Services and Associate Principal the Student Services Manager – Lower School provides pastoral care in the school and the wider community by developing and promoting the school vision and creating a positive school culture.
As this is a new position for Warwick SHS the successful applicant will have proven and effective leadership and behaviour management skills and the ability to inspire students, and build and maintain effective working relationships through highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. They will lead and manage Warwick SHS students from years 7 – 9 to provide support and development programs. The role will also involve managing the transition process for year 6 students in surrounding Primary schools. These strategies are integral to enhancing student engagement to ensure high educational outcomes for all students. The Student Services Manager - Lower School will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the Warwick SHS school community.
The Student Services Manager - Lower School will collaborate with the Student Services Team including Year Coordinators, School Psychologist, Nurse, Chaplain, Clerical Officers, Student Support Coordinator, VET Coordinator and Aboriginal and Islander Education officers. The successful applicant will play a significant role in the daily management of student wellbeing.
The successful applicant will have the ability to promote a positive culture for Warwick SHS Lower School students and a sense of belonging and positive relationships. The Student Services Manager - Lower School will also contribute to supporting Lower School operations such as NAPLAN etc.
It is envisaged that the Student Services Manager - Lower School role would attract 0.8 FTE with a 0.2 teaching component. The ability or willingness to teach digital technologies for 2020 would be an advantage.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
