Instrumental Music School Services is seeking to establish a pool of Music Teachers – Woodwind for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
This is a specialised role. Skill in teaching woodwind instruments is essential.
Candidates will be willing to embrace the opportunity to work within a variety of school environments. The successful applicants will be required to teach in small groups, a range of students from years 5 – 12 in a variety of schools within the metropolitan area. As a Woodwind teacher, you will be expected to conduct ensembles in some schools. Suitable applicants should be able to work independently, demonstrate energy and passion for the subject and to be highly skilled at performance on woodwind instruments.
There is a particularly close collegial relationship amongst staff that allows for significant professional growth as a teacher and musician. Suitable applicants will be proficient in teaching and performance of flute, clarinet and saxophone as well as conducting concert band. The ability to teach other instruments is also highly regarded.

Instrumental Music School Services delivers instrumental music teaching to public schools throughout the state of WA. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
