Mullewa District High School (DHS) is seeking a passionate and flexible Secondary Generalist Teacher to make a valuable additional to our team.
As a teacher at our school you will work collaboratively with others to help create and maintain an engaging and stimulating learning environment for students to enjoy, and will be able to help inspire students to develop a passion for learning.
We are seeking a teacher who is creative in their approach, recognises students’ individualities, and is able to provide an inclusive learning environment. You will work collaboratively with staff and students to provide an engaging and relevant learning environment to inspire and motivate students to learn. We are also seeking a teacher who has good knowledge of learning areas within the WA Curriculum with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy.
This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, relationship-focused and passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to ignite students desire to learn. We require a teacher who values relationships with students and the community, someone who can work effectively with all our stakeholders to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
Mullewa DHS has a strong focus on positive behaviour to support students’ wellbeing. We have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy with an innovative intervention strategy for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school is creating purposeful programs to provide clear career pathways for our secondary students. Our school's ethos is to be caring, work together and create a friendly community. Our popular program of Whole School Reward reflects our ethos of being positive and recognises and acknowledges children who attend school regularly and display appropriate behaviours in and out of the classroom.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
