Geographe Education Support Centre are seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
We are seeking a variety of Teachers – Education Support to fill possible vacancies across all year levels and subject areas in our school. We are seeking specialist teachers as well as classroom teachers - drama, construction, physical education, dance and digital technologies. The school offers teachers an opportunity to work as a part of a team that focusses on teaching students from Kindy through to year 12. Our school offers students an extensive variety of opportunities to develop all the skills necessary to become well rounded and adjusted adults who will leave school and become active members of their community.
Suitable applicants will be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, be willing to share knowledge and mentor other staff. They will demonstrate good classroom management skills and knowledge of PBS. Experience working in an education support setting with a range of students with disabilities and knowledge of early intervention and ABA based programs will be advantageous
Geographe ESC is a purpose built Kindergarten - 12 Public School co-located with Geographe PS and Busselton Senior High School Campuses. The school caters for students with a range of physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities and Autism. Students enrolled in the Centre enjoy both the staff support and specialist classrooms, and an inclusive school education. The Centre is an award winning Level 4 Education Support Centre an average enrolment of 42 students annually, supported by over 40 full time equivalent staff. Enrolment in the Centre is dependent on the Department of Education's Framework of Eligibility for Enrolment
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
