Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Teacher – Design and Technology.
The successful applicant will be a dedicated and high motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. They will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience with the Senior School Materials, Design and Technology (Wood) Course as well as expertise in all aspects of the Lower School (Year 7 – 10) Design Technology curriculum. It would also be highly advantageous to have knowledge or experience in Jewellery, Automotive and/or Robotics courses. An interest and passion for the Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) multidisciplinary learning model, which is a growing program at Duncraig SHS, is also desirable.
We are looking for an applicant with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills who is improvement focused and should be committed to their own on-going professional development. Duncraig SHS places significant focus on the quality of the teaching and learning of all staff, with a particular emphasis on maximising student engagement and learning outcomes. There should be a genuine interest in working in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area (HoLA) to lead improvements in pedagogy, curriculum and student achievement across Year 7 to 12.
Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information Communication Technology (ICT) based technologies in the classroom is important as Duncraig SHS operates a 1:1 personal ICT device policy that is firmly embedded across all learning areas. A familiarity with SEQTA software would be well regarded as this is the online learning management system used at Duncraig SHS.

Duncraig SHS is situated in the north-western suburbs on the coastal strip 18km from Perth. We cater for students from Year 7 to Year 12 and are a school of high standards where the care and progress of every child is the first priority.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
