Appointment Pool
Ashdale Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2020.
The English team is a highly effective team, who values collegiality, reflective practice and the pursuit of excellence. Suitable applicants will ideally have experience in the delivery of Schools Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) WA Certificate of Education (WACE) courses and Western Australian Curriculum. The ability to teach Senior School English and/or English as an Additional Language/Dialect would be seen as advantageous but not essential.
The successful applicant will reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, the suitable applicant will work closely with students, colleagues and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
