Hudson Park Primary School (PS) is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and innovative Manager Corporate Services to join their team.
As Manager Corporate Services you will work in collaboration with the Principal and school leadership team to provide outstanding leadership of all school support and business systems, aligning the Corporate Services functions of your team with the school vision and leading the provision of support and resources in the achievement of the targets identified in the school plan.
The role of the Manager Corporate Services is to ensure effective financial management of the school’s business operations and to provide high level advice and leadership to make sure that student success and opportunity is maximised through the delivery of planning, budgeting and reporting, while ensuring compliance with Departmental and legislative requirements.
Hudson Park PS brings together children from a wide range of backgrounds, languages and cultures and we celebrate this diversity. Major cultural groups within the school include Vietnamese, Sudanese, African nations, Malay, Burmese, Philippino, Cambodian, Iranian and Afghani, and 15% of our students are Aboriginal. With 40 percent of our school population speaking a language other than English, it would be desirable for successful applicants to have experience in leading and managing EAL/D mainstream programs, and implementing the Aboriginal Cultural Standards.
Hudson Park Primary School is located 20 km north of Perth in the centre of the suburb of Girrawheen. It opened as Hudson Park Primary after the amalgamation of Girrawheen and Blackmore Primary Schools in 2009. It has extensive grounds with large shady trees, grassed play areas, a large grassed oval, modern playground equipment and natural vegetation. A substantial upgrade was completed in 2009 adding two new blocks including new classrooms, kindergarten, undercover area and canteen.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Well developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to use effective negotiation skills.
- Sound financial management skills, including budget preparation and the ability to interpret and apply financial and accounting practices and procedures.
- Sound human resource management skills, including the ability to develop and/or apply human resource management practices and systems.
- Leadership skills in the delivery of business outcomes and sound customer service principles and practices.
- Ability to provide input into the development, implementation and monitoring of business and marketing plans.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
