We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
The foundation staff at Baldivis North Primary School (planning name) will be part of a school community that builds an engaging, connected and empowering school culture based on the principles of equity, social justice, inclusion and respect for each other, our students and their families. The suitable applicants will need to be highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities to promote excellence and build effective teams. They will possess a highly effective, evidence based pedagogical approach that prioritises explicit teaching while providing a balance with planned, purposeful inquiry and play-based learning opportunities. Our teaching staff will demonstrate an effective engagement in valid educational measurement practice and the ability to respond appropriately to data analysis.
In the context of a new school and a growing school population, successful applicants will demonstrate professional flexibility and the ability to anticipate and adapt to changing circumstances as they arise. Our teaching staff should embrace the opportunities that will be provided through a distributed leadership structure. Applicants must be prepared to teach a range of year levels from Kindergarten to Year 6 and demonstrate a commitment to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of each individual through an accountable and demonstrable understanding of each child and their learning context.
Baldivis North PS will open as a Kindergarten to Year 6 Independent Public School in 2020, servicing a developing school community from estates in the eastern part of Baldivis. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
