Governor Stirling Senior High School (GSSHS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic and motivated Mathematics Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will be highly motivated; student and relationship focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences. You will utilise innovative strategies and be able to work effectively within a dynamic team. This will involve you reflecting and assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice, differentiating curriculum to meet the learning needs of your students, and cultivating a safe learning environment. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to instil our school values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility, Tolerance, and Personal Excellence allowing students to achieve to their full potential.

The new GSSHS, situated on the banks of the Swan River in Woodbridge, was re-opened in 2013 with state-of-the-art facilities, catering for students of varying abilities and offering the Department of Education Gifted and Talented Academic Program, a range of academic and Vocational Education Training (VET) programs and Approved Specialist Programs in Engineering, Arts Media and AFL Football. Governor Stirling SHS prepares students for life after high school with many options for academic and vocational pathways.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
