This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2020
Churchlands SHS is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Teacher of English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) to join our team.
The successful applicant will ideally possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate a strong ability to use data to assess student progress, their own teaching practice and to plan strategically to improve outcomes for culturally and linguistically diverse students. The teacher will work with students with varying needs from diverse cultural, linguistic, socio-economic and education backgrounds from year 7 through to year 12. In addition to classroom teaching, the successful applicant will have the ability to assist students in their study across learning areas and work collaboratively with other teachers in the development, implementation and monitoring of effective teaching and learning programs. You will need to provide a flexible and supportive approach to students via extracurricular activities, homework and conversation classes as well as cultural experiences. Experience in sharing professional practice with groups of staff in varying contexts and contributing to faculty and school planning would be highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
