Appointment Pool
Are you a passionate, dedicated enthusiastic Physical Education teacher who would love to teach senior school students?
Mindarie Senior College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Health and Physical Education Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
There is currently two (2) positions available to start in January 2020.
As a valuable member of the teaching staff, suitable applicants would be responsible for the educational outcomes of the school's Physical Education curriculum. We are seeking applicants who have the skills to build positive, caring relationships with students. It is highly desirable for applicants to have a bus license, open water qualification and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. One position may include some Dance.
As a Health and Physical Education teacher you will participate as an integral member of the HPE learning area and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your delivery. As such, suitable applicants will possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics.
Suitable applicants will also be dedicated and highly motivated educators with an excellent knowledge of the Senior School Western Australian Curriculum, be able to deliver content in an engaging manner and be a highly effective team member. As a reflective practitioner, suitable applicants will possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum, is a requirement. Pastoral care also remains a highly desirable aspect of the role.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
