Leonora District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and hardworking Primary or Secondary Teacher to join their friendly team in the Big Picture Education Secondary program that has been developed within the school.
The school has a supportive and positive culture, with innovative programs such as two-way science and Big Picture Education. The suitable applicant will be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as demonstrating an engaging and energetic teaching style. You will promote an inclusive environment of active and positive learning, with the ability to differentiate the curriculum to cater to students with special needs and challenging behaviours essential to the role.

Leonora DHS is situated in Leonora, a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, located approximately 833 kilometres northeast of the state capital, Perth, and 237 kilometres north of the city of Kalgoorlie. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Staff, parents and the wider community came together to create a shared vision for the school. Through a process where every voice was heard, consensus was reached on a description of the school we want for our students. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
