Appointment Pool
Yokine Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of highly enthusiastic and team-orientated Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2020.
We are seeking dedicated, motivated, innovative and enthusiastic educators. Successful applicants will have excellent pedagogy, highly developed interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a team environment to deliver our whole school approaches. Children’s individual differences will be provided for through an inclusive and personalised approach to education, and a commitment to engaging with families and the wider community.
Applicants must have the necessary skills and ability to work with an established team of teachers and be prepared to actively participate in whole school and year level planning, moderation and data analysis. It is desirable that applicants demonstrate a high level of collaborative practice, together with interpersonal skills, to enable effective participation and engagement within the school and community.
Successful applicants will plan engaging, respectful and relevant student learning programs, monitor and assess student progress and achievement using the Western Australian Curriculum. Explicit teaching structures, adopted instructional strategies and ongoing set assessment practices are to be used for the planning, delivery and assessment of student progress and achievement. Applicants should have a proven record of planning for student improvement and be accountable for students’ progress and achievement.

Suitably qualified early childhood applicants should already have an excellent knowledge of the WA Curriculum, Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards; and deliver content in an intentional, play-based and engaging manner. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education, Music, Visual Arts, and Health & Physical Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
