The Infrastructure Division is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Leasing Administration Officer in the Asset Planning and Services branch.
The Leasing Administration Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Department’s lease and licence portfolio, including the maintenance of the lease and licence database. You will be responsible for helping the team ensure that the parties to the portfolio of leases and licences meet their obligations as required by the agreements’ terms and conditions. With experience in property and/or financial administration, you will manage the financial aspects of leases and licences, monitor rent and variable payments, monitor rent review dates and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
You will research and gather information to complete annual Department budgets, rent reviews and reports, and alert management to any issues, risks or potential breaches. As the Leasing Administration Officer you will also complete general administration tasks to support the branch, including ordering stationery, booking travel and accommodation, recruitment and payroll, assist audits and respond to general enquiries and correspondence.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Skills and practical experience in property or financial administration.
- Skills and experience in accurately maintaining and monitoring key information.
- Ability to achieve outcomes and deliver quality products and services consistent with Department and school needs and defined quality expectations, including timeliness
- Sound interpersonal and verbal communication skills to undertake consultation, collaboration, negotiation and build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders on commercial contracting issues.
- Sound written communication skills, including experience in contributing to reports, briefing papers and responses to Senior Executive and/or Ministerial/Parliamentary requests.
- Sound analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
