This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020
Coodanup College is looking for a passionate individual to make a valuable addition to their friendly teaching team in this challenging and rewarding role as Teacher – Science.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities to effective teach the Western Australian Science curriculum to secondary school students in Years 7 – 10.
In this role, you will apply your knowledge and expertise of teaching strategies and the WA Science curriculum to inspire and motivate students to engage with their education. You will be student and relationship-focused, innovative with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively and collaboratively with staff and students. The successful applicant will reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice using a variety of methods to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
Applicants demonstrating resilience and flexibility with a wide and varied knowledge of low key behaviour management strategies to effectively manage challenging behaviours in the classroom will be considered favourably for this exciting and rewarding opportunity.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
