Gilmore College is seeking to appoint a dedicated and hardworking Student Services Program Coordinator to join our friendly team.
The successful applicant will have involvement with and knowledge of outside agencies to provide better educational outcomes for students. You will ideally have the knowledge and adaptability of strategies that will enable successful planning for individual case management of tier 3 students within the College community including mental and social wellbeing, pastoral care, behaviour management and school strategic planning. The role also requires the successful applicant to effectively communicate with staff, school leadership and carers. Each year the Program Coordinator student services coordinates communication with the seven local area primary schools and manages the transition of Year 6 students to the school.
There is a cohesive team of Student Services personnel and leaders in place who follow processes and act in the best interests of students aligned to the principles of natural and restorative justice together with functional behaviour.
The successful Program Coordinator will be a visible leader with an extensive knowledge of pastoral care in the context of Gilmore College. The suitable applicant will display commitment to the school's Moral Purpose, our PBS ethos and behaviour matrix and the school improvement program as part of the management leadership team. You will be required to collaborate effectively with the remainder of the Student Services team including two other Program Coordinators and a Manager of Learning Support. Again, the successful applicant will be an effective communicator and be able to handle difficult conversations in a compassionate and empathetic way.
Gilmore College is an Independent public school which opened in 2008 continuing 52 previous years of secondary education provided by Kwinana Senior High School. The school continues the education of students from within the City of Kwinana area primary schools.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs);
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
