Honeywood Primary School (PS) are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Music Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong knowledge of the curriculum and effective teaching approaches. They will be student focused and able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills while working collaboratively in a Music Team. They will initially teach students in junior primary, sharing the Music Specialist role with our current teacher. You will be required to collaborate in planning whole school events, preparing Choirs for festivals and coordinating instrumental music programs. l As our current specialist is transitioning to retirement, this role is ideal for someone who can increase their work fraction over time.
In 2018 the school was excited to open our huge brand new school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6, which has been skilfully designed to bring out the best in every child. Four teaching and learning blocks including one specifically designed for early childhood, a science room, music room, a covered assembly area with a fully equipped canteen, a library, a huge oval and basketball/tennis courts - all there for children to learn and play and discover their own unique talents.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
