This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.2 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2020 with possible extension and/or permanency
Yanchep Secondary College (SC) is looking for a proactive, intelligent and passionate LOTE teacher who is able to effectively teach either Chinese or Noongar across all year levels. However, applicants who can teach other languages will also be considered.
Suitable applicants would ideally be teachers who engage with students and challenge them to achieve their personal best; be able to work effectively in a team and independently to support the initiatives and programs in LOTE. Ideally suitable applicants will use a range of teaching strategies (including ICT) to engage the students and ensure high quality outcomes for all students.
The successful applicant will be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic and motivated. You will engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice to create an environment conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities which provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs. This role will require you to actively participate in planning in of the curriculum and the development of programs to address the school’s core expectations.
Yanchep Secondary College is a new school which commenced operation at the start of 2018 in a state of the art facility in Yanchep. The school caters for students from Years 7 to 12. The school is an independent public school with a key focus on integrating technology in the classroom.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
