Appointment Pool
Are you an innovative and passionate teacher?
Wanneroo Secondary College is seeking to establish a pool of Humanities and Social Sciences Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will be required to teach subjects relevant to the HASS Learning Area to students in Years 7 to 12 across a range of abilities and talents. The successful applicants will be required to teach a combination of ATAR and General Courses in Senior School. The ability to teach ATAR History or to deliver the Certificate II in Business would be a desirable skill.
As a HASS teacher you would participate as an integral member of the teaching team and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students according to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary classroom practice. You will also be able to assist in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, integrate information technology into the curriculum and assist with the pastoral care of students and liaise with parents as required. Wanneroo SC has computer hubs in each faculty building as well as numerous laptop trolleys to incorporate information and technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Wanneroo SC is a co-educational secondary school catering for students from years 7 to 12. Opened in 1977, it’s located 24km north of the Perth CBD in a rapidly developing area with new suburbs constantly emerging and the fastest population growth rate in the country. It is expected that student numbers will be approximately 1150 in 2020. All classrooms have been upgraded and refurbished in recent years. The staff of Wanneroo SC are dedicated and hard-working, sharing in a strong collegiate spirit and a school ethos that encourages and rewards effort and excellence.
A diverse range of curriculum and extra curriculum activities is provided, including an ongoing commitment to strongly support pastoral care to promote and monitor student welfare. - Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
