Appointment Pool
Anne Hamersley Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of highly experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Teachers of Years 3-6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will be extremely dedicated, motivated, innovative and enthusiastic. We are searching for teachers who are highly knowledgeable, skilled and committed to continual learning to further develop the growing culture of belonging and excellence.
Applicants must have the necessary skills and ability to work with an established team of teachers and be prepared to actively participate in whole school and year level planning, moderation and data analysis. It is desirable that applicants demonstrate a high level of collaborative practice, together with interpersonal skills, to enable effective participation and engagement within the school and community.
Applicants will plan engaging, respectful and relevant student learning programs, monitor and assess student progress and achievement using the Western Australian Curriculum. Explicit teaching structures, pre-determined instructional strategies and ongoing set assessment practices are to be used for the planning, delivery and assessment of student progress and achievement. Applicants should have a proven record of planning for student improvement and be accountable for students’ progress and achievement.
Applicants should exhibit proficiency in current and effective teaching practice and be supportive of the school’s ethos, strategic goals and directions for child-centred learning. High on the list to be interviewed will be applicants who are creative in their approach and recognise student individualities. They will provide an inclusive and differentiated learning environment that fosters children’s learning and development.
Examples of multi-modal learning, including the innovative and integrated use of Information Technology (ICT) using Interactive Whiteboards, tablets and laptops, is essential.
Suitable applicants will be expected to work in an environment committed to whole school improvement practices through classroom observation by the Principal, line manager, peer-assessment and self-assessment.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
