Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH597519
This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020 with possible extension and/or permanency
Gairdner Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a Teacher – Early Childhood Education to join their team in the small community of Gairdner. Applicants will teach in a multi-aged class (Kindergarten to Year 2) in a small rural school with only 2 classes.
Gairdner PS is a friendly school where teachers, support staff and admin work collaboratively to support each student and each another. The class will be fortunate in having a full-time Education Assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and well organised teacher who can be flexible to possible changes in the timetable as we may have spontaneous events occurring from time to time. It is a necessity that the applicant is able to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
The school is part of the Fitzgerald Cluster of schools where teachers form networks and work closely with one another so that ideas may be shared and assessment moderation can occur. In this way we are able to assist and support each other. Four days per year are put aside for face to face network meetings to provide further support for teachers and their professional development.
Gairdner PS is a school without a town and accommodation may need to be in Jerramungup (32 km) or Bremer Bay (66km) away. The school was built in the 60's and has had a number of renovations completed recently to make it a really pleasant, welcoming school to work in.
We have a friendly parent body and strong School Board and P&C who work hard to support the school. All students are well behaved and we follow the PBS model with our values of Respect, Inclusivity, Strive and Explore.
