Kalbarri District High School (DHS) is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher – Science - STEM to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will be an experienced teacher who uses high levels of positive classroom management skills, has the ability to develop successful learning teams and build positive relationships with parents and must be able to provide Science DOTT for primary level students. You will be highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic and will take responsibility for quality hands on STEM learning programs at both a classroom and whole school level. Skills in leading and supporting other staff in curriculum improvement as well as having an excellent knowledge of the Science and Digital Technologies curriculum would be desirable. The successful applicant will be expected to manage a range of resources across the school and work with others to plan for improvement in STEM.
Kalbarri is a beautiful tourist town surrounded by National Park which gives us a unique opportunity to utilise our natural environment in our curriculum. Our school caters for under 200 students ranging from K-12. We believe that every child has unique needs and we work very closely with the student and parents to provide the individual course of study that meeds those needs.
The Positive Behaviour Support program with the expectations of respect, responsibility and caring is being implemented across the school and is developing positive self- regulation in the children. Our friendly and caring atmosphere, contribute to a comprehensive and individual education for children.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
