Bertram Primary School (PS) seeking to appoint a dedicated Cleaner to join their team for 2 hours each day from 5:00am to 7:00am.
Under the Cleaner in Charge, the successful applicant will be a conscientious worker, having knowledge of the cleaning processes and cleaning equipment. You will have pride in your work and assist the team as they strive to keep the school environment clean and safe in accordance with Department procedures.
The successful applicant will carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, and rubbish removal. They will perform external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandahs and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, and removal of cobwebs. They will also complete vacation cleaning duties, including, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandahs and undercover areas, and other such duties as required by the Cleaner-In-Charge. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.
Bertram PS is an Independent Public School located in the Bertram housing subdivision south of Perth. Bertram is a local intake school.
In 2013 the school embraced the iPad and has implemented a 1:1 program across the PP-6 area of the school. In 2017 over 500 iPads come to school each day to ensure our students are able to access the very latest in learning technology in their learning area with their peers and teacher. Students from across these year levels work on their iPads at times throughout each day. They share their work using AirServer. Students also have access to over 400 school iPads. This approach is supported by parent and staff classes on iPad usage and the provision of an IT learning teacher who works with teachers to support the ongoing implementation and strong curriculum focus the program is built on. We have also established an e-library to allow families to access books at any time and from anywhere so learning is taken off site and ongoing.
The school focuses significant energies on addressing the needs of each child and staff are expected to work collaboratively to help students achieve at or above the expected standards.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
