This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020
Are you a passionate, evidence based teacher looking for an exciting challenge?
Hammond Park Secondary College (SC) is seeking an engaging, dedicated Humanities and Social Science Teacher to join our foundation staff. We are looking for a highly competent teacher who has an understanding of High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) and a detailed knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum.
The position requires a teacher who has excellent interpersonal skills and can foster positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, staff and community members. We require a teacher who has the skills to collaborate across learning areas to create innovative learning opportunities for our students.
Hammond Park SC will implement a school-wide Instructional and Coaching Framework based on High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS). Teachers will design and deliver lessons aligned to the Framework and receive instructional coaching and feedback, so we are seeking highly reflective teachers with a growth mindset and desire for continuous improvement.
The college also places wellbeing at the centre of what we do so the implementation of a Wellbeing Framework based on the PERMA principles is a priority. The college will commence the school day with a Homeroom where the PERMA program will be delivered and all teachers will be responsible for the delivery of this program.
Teachers in the initial years may also be required to teach in their minor teaching area until the college grows and we can fully develop specialist areas. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to become a foundation staff member and work collaboratively to establish the college from the ground up.
