This is a permanent part-time (0.75FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2019
As Cleaner In Charge, you will be responsible for managing members of the cleaning staff and liaising with the school administrative team, and as such you will need to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will also be required to manage the cleaning budget and purchase cleaning products and equipment.
Additionally, the successful applicant will carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, and the cleaning of toilets, furniture and fittings, windows, dusting and removal of rubbish. You will perform external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandahs and covered areas, drinking troughs, windows and rubbish removal. During vacation periods, you will perform other cleaning duties, including the stripping and sealing of vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandahs and undercover areas. As the successful applicant you will be required to operate a range of cleaning equipment including a backpack vacuum cleaner, leaf blower, carpet cleaner and polisher.
Karrinyup PS an Independent Public School catering to 520 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. It is located just 15 minutes from the CBD in close proximity to one of the largest suburban shopping centres in Perth, as well as Trigg and Scarborough beaches.
The school grounds are a feature, with large amounts of well-shaded areas and well-maintained water-wise native Australian garden beds, which all combine to provide a pleasant outlook and recreational space, not only for the school, but the community as a whole. The grounds include multi-purpose hard courts, two ovals and specialised playgrounds that have a focus on 'Nature Play'.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a ten (10) day breach period to this selection process
