Mount Barker Community College (CC) is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a Teacher – Mathematics.
The successful applicant will have a passion for secondary education, a positive attitude and a willingness to work with like-minded people. You would foster an interest in lifelong learning in students, participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on your own teaching practice to enhance learning. In addition to educating and supporting the ongoing development of student capabilities, you would be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Mount Barker CC is a Kindergarten to Year 12 Government School, situated 50km north of Albany. Students come from Mount Barker and the surrounding rural communities. Approximately 7% of students are indigenous and a similar number from Afghanistan.
Mount Barker CC runs specialist and extension courses from Smart Start for 0-4 years through to trainee and apprenticeship for senior students. The College is surrounded by our 230Ha mixed farm with vineyard. We are an RTO with national modules and certificates in Rural Operations & Viticulture, Hospitality and Metals & Engineering.
Mount Barker CC was the top performing regional school in our 2015 ATAR results. We are proud of our strong partnership with parents and the community to support education and student success.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
