This is a permanent part-time (0.25FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2019
Dumbleyung Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and committed individual to join their team in the role of Cleaner.
The successful applicant will carry out cleaning of the allocated internal and external areas including emptying rubbish bins in the waste disposal system. They will open and/or lock the school, liaise with the Principal on all cleaning matters and record and respond to issues and concerns detailed in the communication book. They will maintain the school environment in accordance with Department procedures.
The town of Dumbleyung is situated 280 kilometres east of Perth. Its nearest towns are Wagin (40 kilometres west) and Katanning (50 kilometres southwest). Dumbleyung has a population of approximately 500 and is primarily a farming community. Dumbleyung PS was originally established in 1911. Student numbers reached over 210 in the early 1960s and in 1968 the school became a District High School. The school was reclassified to a Level 3 Primary School for the start of the 2000 school year. Our community celebrated the school's centenary in 2011.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a ten (10) day breach period to this selection process.
