Appointment Pool
We are seeking talented teachers determined to improving educational outcomes for students
North Perth Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2020.
We are seeking accomplished teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills which underpin professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. Suitable applicants will become an integral part of this community partnership to support each child to reach their potential.
As a teacher at North Perth PS, you will work in a collaborative environment to improve student outcomes, reflect on your own performance, contribute to staff development and support our distributed leadership structure. You will be committed to continuous improvement, demonstrated by your willingness to accept and implement change, but also in your ability to lead change at a school-wide level.
Suitable applicants must be highly skilled and motivated educators with a passion for teaching, with an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and demonstrated best practice in Literacy and Numeracy. The school is focused on embedding evidence-based practices for teaching and learning and therefore, it is desirable for applicants to demonstrate a sound knowledge of our whole-school programs and priorities, including Letters and Sounds, SoundWaves, Talk4Writing, Oxford Maths, PATHS, explicit teaching strategies and Mathematics Proficiency Strands.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
