Australind Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Science Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.

The successful applicant will self-reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. You will have the capacity to deliver highly engaging programs that are relevant to our Year 7- 12 students' needs. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
Our business needs are such that we require teachers to undertake ATAR courses in Year 11 and 12 Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Psychology, Engineering and Human Biology. Therefore, applicants who are able to demonstrate differentiated teaching practices within the classroom and skills and strategies that support the development of the Science curriculum across lower school classes and into the Vocational pathway, will be highly regarded.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
