Aveley Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will be expected to work as a collaborative member of a professional learning team and have the skills to teach across a variety of year levels. They must be able to engage with the community and build positive relationships with students, staff, families and external agencies.
Applicants who can demonstrate excellent instructional skills in English and Mathematics, as well as the capacity to integrate STEM across all learning areas, will be highly regarded. Applicants would also be expected to facilitate learning experiences which maximise the integration of a range of information technology tools and platforms.
Ideally, suitable applicants will have the knowledge, skills and processes to incorporate our existing whole-school programs by adopting set practices in these areas: Explicit Teaching, Inquiry-based Learning, Talk for Writing, Letters and Sounds, Words Their Way and You Can Do It.
Teachers who are ready to join our team will be required to participate in phase of development planning and learning area curriculum development through collaboration and shared leadership opportunities. They will have skills and knowledge in a range of instructional strategies and assessment practices. Applicants who use the analysis of data to inform their planning and apply targeted teaching processes and intervention to improve student learning will be highly regarded.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
