Appointment Pool
Applecross Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Year 3-6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during Term 4, 2019 and up to the end of Term 4, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the Term 4, 2019, up to the end of Term 4, 2020.
Suitable applicants will be highly motivated, and view working in a collaborative environment as integral to achieving the outcomes we have set for our students. Integral to working within a collaborative team environment will be a willingness to engage in self-reflection, observation and feedback practices to develop their understanding of our whole school programs and pedagogy. An adherence to whole school approaches to delivering programs considered essential to our student’s progress is expected.
It is desirable that applicants make themselves familiar with the attached document “Measuring our Effectiveness in the Context of our School” and who demonstrate how they can contribute to the growth of our school, the achievement of set targets outlined in our Business Management Plan 2018-2020 and have some understanding of the part our parent community plays in the success of Applecross PS.
Teachers at Applecross PS need to be future focused and use high impact teaching strategies to progress students learning. You will be confident in the application of technologies and its integration across the curriculum to enhance student outcomes.
It would be highly desirable for applicant to consider the following work related requirements:
- A commitment to and validated success in enquiry based learning strategies both inside and outside of the classroom.
- A capacity to provide an appropriate and differentiated curriculum.
- An understanding of gifted and talented students will be important in enabling the teacher to work with and plan for our identified G&T students.
- An understanding of how to create a learning environment that is engaging, challenging, caring and caters for a range of needs which promote student achievement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
