Carnarvon Community College (CC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and hardworking Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.

You will need to demonstrate an engaging and energetic teaching style. You will promote an inclusive environment of active and positive learning, differentiating the curriculum to cater to students with special needs and challenging behaviours.
Our College is currently in a process of vibrant change. At the start of Semester 2 2019, the secondary students moved across to Marmion Street and our Kindergarten to Year 12 college is now operating as one campus offering a streamlined 21st century teaching and learning environment.
For our students to feel valued at all times, their health and wellbeing is of paramount importance. We provide a caring and nurturing environment. Our classrooms reflect the standards of the Aboriginal and Cultural Standards Framework to ensure students are confident and successful learners. We assist students’ social and emotional learning through the use of the Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) program across the primary school.
We are a Positive Behaviour Support school. We teach the social behaviours necessary for our students to demonstrate our values of Unity, Respect and Success. Explicit teaching of social behaviours from the school’s Behaviour Matrix ensures a predictable, orderly and supportive learning environment enabling all students the opportunity to be a successful student.
Our core learning is devoted to Literacy and Numeracy. We implement evidence based Literacy practices across the primary school, particularly the teaching of phonics using a synthetic phonics approach and Talk for Writing. Support is provided to all teachers by a strong Literacy leadership team.
