Pegs Creek Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of innovative and motivated K-6 Teachers and Specialist Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within this period.
Suitable applicants will demonstrate a capacity to deliver high quality educational experiences that meet the needs of a diverse range of students within the WA Curriculum and Assessment Outline. Our school has a focus on whole-school practices in English, Mathematics and social emotional learning including explicit instruction, Talk 4 Writing, You Can Do It, classroom management along with integrating information and communication technology. We are recruiting teachers who have outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate and relate to parents, students and staff members. You will be required to work collaboratively in a team environment, contribute to Phase of Learning teams and implement effective use of support staff.
Peg’s Creek PS is an Independent Public School, centrally located in the City of Karratha 1600km north-west of Perth. Our school is part of the Pilbara Education Region and has recently celebrated its 41st Anniversary. The Pilbara offers diverse cultural and environmental experiences from Exmouth to Broome to Tom Price. Karratha offers a number of modern facilities, particularly the Red Earth Arts Precinct along with a range of recreational pursuits, eg. fishing, camping. Peg’s Creek Primary School has 233 students and nearly 30 staff and caters for a diverse cross-section of our community. The school’s Business Plan forms the basis of driving school improvement along with our participation in the Fogarty Edvance program. The school is well supported by our School Board and P&C. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
