Woodvale Secondary College is seeking to appoint a hardworking and motivated Physical Education and Health Teacher to join their friendly team. Their main role will be to continue to coordinate the Specialist Basketball Program.
The successful applicant for this position will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. They will exhibit the professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school P&HE curriculum. The successful applicant will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students within an organised and supportive P&HE Department. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and experience in delivering VET course (Certificate II in Sports Coaching in particular), running a Specialist Basketball program and delivery of the Physical Education ATAR course would be highly advantageous along with an Association Coaching qualification as recognised by Basketball WA.
This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, student and relationship focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences. You would be involved in providing high-level support and participation in team planning for curriculum policy and programs, as well as collaboration with members of the school community. The suitable applicant will need a current bus licence. As this is a Specialist Basketball Program, the suitable applicant will need to be able to deliver this program and develop relationships with local clubs and basketball associations.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
