Collier Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Located in the suburb of Como, we cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Cultural and social awareness is a major theme within the educational programs at Collier due to the diverse nature of our school.
To be suitable for placement in the pool you will be able to work in a collegiate team and have the required knowledge to lead staff into the development of Talk 4 Write processes and programs across the whole school. We are looking for applicants who a high level of knowledge across the middle and senior years of Primary curriculum.
Experienced use of ICT as a tool enhance learning and the development of STEM capabilities would be a distinct advantage in securing a position within the staff. Experience with CONNECT is highly desirable.
Demonstration of value adding to the students’ performance through high degree of data analysis using the assessment tools of PAT Testing, On-Entry and NAPLAN materials. Being able to lead the staff though the use of classroom Dashboard analysis would be a distinct advantage for the appointment to this position.
Suitable applicants will approach teaching in a creative style and recognises students’ individualities and capabilities. This includes being able to plan and report using the SEN planning tool in the Reporting to Parents system.
Successful applicants will need to demonstrate success in the planning, assessing reflecting cycle and how this was implemented in a Professional Learning Community environment. The successful applicant must be able to work in close conjunction with the support agencies (Language Development Centre, Dyslexia/Speld Foundation, SSEN) to enhance the curriculum provision for access for students. The successful applicant will be required to manage a group of students with high level needs and disabilities.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
