Are you a passionate, creative and engaging science teacher?
Glengarry Primary (PS) is seeking a talented and resourceful Teacher – Upper – Years 5-6 (STEAM) to join their friendly and dedicated team.
The successful applicant will teach upper primary with a STEAM focus. Preferably, you will be an experienced teacher with the knowledge and understanding of STEAM subjects, with particular relevance to Technology, Engineering and the Arts (Music). You will support the school’s participation in initiatives and developing networks to maintain currency, new developments and emerging learning technologies in the area of STEAM.
As a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic teacher, you will take responsibility for quality hands on STEAM learning programs at both a classroom and whole school level. Experience in leading and supporting other staff in curriculum improvement as well as building the capacity of staff through coaching and skill development will be advantageous. The successful applicant will be able to positively engage and motivate others with the demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
Glengarry PS is an attractive school located in the suburb of Duncraig, approximately 15 kilometres north of Perth. The well-kept buildings, featuring student made mosaic masterpieces are surrounded by tranquil, natural bushland, flowerbeds and well maintained grassed and bitumen play areas.
The supportive, dedicated and experienced staff works collaboratively to enhance each of the almost 400 student's physical, social, academic and emotional development. Assisted by continuing professional development, the staff are working to prepare students for the many demands and rapid change of the 21st century. The school became an Independent Public School in 2015 and is well resourced, especially in the area of technology.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
