This is a six (6) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2019 with possible extension six (6 months) and/or permanency
Collie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Teacher of Mathematics and Physical Education. The position may entail teaching Year 7 to Year 12 students in either Learning Area.
The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate strong working relationships with both staff and students, display outstanding pedagogical and assessment practice and have highly developed collaborative skills. As a school promoting Positive Behaviour Supports the ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in providing an engaging, student-centred curriculum encouraging students to be their best. An excellent knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and a capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner to instil our students with a passion for numeracy are key attributes for this position. Collie SHS is situated in a very engaging country town just over two hour’s drive south of Perth with great access to the Southwest. There are a wide variety of outdoor activities available in and around the town and it is an excellent starting point to explore this part of the State. GROH housing is currently available and the position also attracts a district allowance. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a quality school within the Southwest.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
