Looking to develop and grow within a new secondary school with close links to the community
Byford Secondary College (SC) is establishing a pool of outstanding teachers of Mathematics for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2020. Placements can be made from the pool for commencement at any time within the 2020 school year.
Byford SC is seeking dedicated, highly competent and enthuastic Mathematics teachers, with excellent interpersonal skills. Suitable applicants will be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement in a academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated.
The suitable applicants will have a passion for secondary education and the desire to impact their innovation, skills and knowledge as valued member of our Mathematics team. They will demonstrate experience in catering for a variety of students needs across Years 7 – 10, through effective differentiation for students identified as at educational risk (SAER), special needs and academically gifted. Experience in the delivery of ATAR would also be considered desirable. You will engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice, embrace the integration of ICT to create an environment conducive to learning, and provide educational opportunities which provide purposeful and relevant learining experiences that cater for a range of student learning needs to improve student outcomes.
Byford SC is an Independent Public School located approximately 30 kilometres from the Perth CBD. Our College provides for the secondary education needs of students from Byford and the surrounding communities, with our current cohort of 1200 Year 7-12 students, looking to grow to approximately 1350 students in Years 7-12 in 2019. Byford SC has also become a focal point for secondary education provision for students with disabilities when in 2017 our inclusion facilities opened.
Byford SC has an established BYOD (iPads) program and a strong focus on ICT and STEM. The successful applicant will be required to embrace 21st century learning practices and participate in leading innovation and change to pedagogy. The College offers an academic extension program for students by selection, in partnership with the University of Western Australia. This ‘Aspire’ program provides these students with access to the university's staff and facilities to enhance their learning experience. Teachers with a demonstrated ability to effectively differentiate instruction to improve student outcomes and challenge students to achieve at the highest level would be highly regarded.
The College invites any interested applicants to attend a Presentation and College Tour for prospective staff on Wednesday August 21 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm where members of the School Leadership Team will provide an information session on teaching at the College.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
