Greenmount Primary School (PS) are seeking to appoint a Teacher - Primary - Visual Arts.
The successful applicant will have an excellent knowledge of the Arts curriculum and experience in teaching Art to students from Pre-primary to Year 6. With a strong history and appreciation of Art in the school community, an essential requirement of the Art Specialist is to provide an engaging program focussing on the development of Visual Arts skills. The successful applicant should have excellent interpersonal skills, be well organised, motivated and committed to developing positive relationships and have high expectations for all students. They will have the ability to work collaboratively with teachers to plan and implement effective teaching and learning programs and integrate Visual Arts into all areas of the curriculum.
Student outcomes and personal development are areas of high priority and should underpin all pedagogy. Applicants should have the ability to motivate others and foster strong relationships with colleagues, parents and students and be able to work successfully in a highly collaborative culture.
Teachers at Greenmount PS are afforded leadership opportunities taking on roles of curriculum and team leadership, readily sharing their expertise and ideas with staff through cell meetings and professional learning sessions. Greenmount PS is an Independent Public School with a current enrolment of 360 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Located 20km from the CBD on the Darling Scarp, the school has strong links to the historical Blackboy Hill site on which it is located.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
