Appointment Pool
Butler Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will be highly motivated and innovative teachers who can work effectively within collaborative teams. You will ideally have positive interpersonal skills to be productive within these teams and be able to cater for the diverse needs of students so all students reach their potential. You will be expected to support ongoing professional learning, work collaboratively in a team environment and have a sound working knowledge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and the ability to integrate this across learning areas using Smart board technology.
Suitable applicants will use strong communication skills as part of an effective team to engage in planning at the school level, and year level and must be prepared to accept leadership roles and responsibilities beyond their own classroom. Suitable applicants will also exhibit effective learning, teaching and assessment practices using sound cooperative learning and instructional skills and strategies. A knowledge of and commitment to the First Steps strategies in Maths and English is highly desirable.

Butler PS opened in 2003 and now accommodates over 700 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school environment and facilities are well maintained to ensure they cater for the needs of our students through ample play areas and well maintained grounds.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
