Appointment Pool
Manning Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of reliable and hardworking Cleaners for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 and 2020 school years. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements up to the end of Term 4, 2020
As a Cleaner, you would carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning. In addition to this, you would also carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, cleaning of drinking troughs, removal of cobwebs and other general cleaning duties as required. The ability to work as part of a team will be highly valued.
Manning PS is located in a residential area in the City of South Perth, an inner metropolitan school attracting students from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. The clientele includes children of Aboriginal heritage and diverse cultural backgrounds. The school attracts some students whose parents are working or studying at surrounding universities. There is strong parent support from the P & C who have funded the air conditioning of all classrooms. Parent involvement is fostered through the School Council, help in the classroom, on special days or at sports carnivals.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
