Appointment Pool
Are you an inspiring educator who can motivate students to participate and achieve?
Wandina Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of exceptional Primary School Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will need to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills, a strong commitment to professional learning and the ability to work in a collaborative environment with a willingness to work and share with others. Additionally, you will demonstrate the ability to differentiate the curriculum and utilise instructional strategies to maximise student learning and engagement in their learning.
Knowledge and experience with the implementation of current educational research and practice in literacy will be considered favourably, as would the ability to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Digital Technologies, particularly iPads, as a tool for 21st century learning, as part of the school’s Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program.
Successful applicants will need to demonstrate a commitment to the school’s teaching and learning policies, programs and initiatives and support the positive school culture that focuses on collaboration and classroom observation through Professional Learning Teams.
In addition, suitable applicants will possess a knowledge and experience in the application of effective skills and strategies for teaching literacy and numeracy, particularly in relation to Guided reading, synthetic phonics, numeracy block and case management for students in need.
Wandina PS opened as an Independent Public School in 2014, in the suburb of Wandina in Geraldton, Western Australia. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
